Training Program

The Mental Health Legal Advisors Committee(MHLAC) provides educational seminars on issues of mental health for attorneys, advocates, and other professionals of all levels of experience. Our trainings focus on representing persons with mental illness in legal settings and usually contain a morning of clinical teaching sessions and an afternoon of legal teaching sessions. Our trainings provide eight(8) continuing legal education credits from both the Mental Health Law Unit and the Children and Family Law Unit of the Committee for Public Counsel Services(CPCS). Sometimes credits may be available from other agencies and for other purposes. Packets of written materials for most seminars are available through MHLAC for $25.

Please contact Kate Dulit, Staff Attorney, with any questions you may have regarding MHLAC's training program or for materials. She can be reached at kdulit@mhlac.org or 617 338 2345 x30.
