About the Bill:
To mark the 20 year anniversary of the MA Victim Bill of Rights in 2003, the Massachusetts Office for Victim Assistance (MOVA) conducted focus groups of survivors, public and community-based victim service providers, DA victim witness advocates, prosecutors, police officers and judges from across the states. MOVA also researched other states’ more advanced statutes, and, subsequently, drafted and filed this critical legislation.
