This Funding Directory was created to aid programs and organizations in their quest for additional grants and support. As the state agency responsible for administering the federal Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) grant, we recognize the difficulty victim service programs face in finding funding. Since there are so many important programs serving victims of crime across the Commonwealth, we created this funding directory with the hope of providing them with information on additional funding resources. The Directory is divided into sections, to help the reader easily locate the different types of funding. It also includes a list of helpful tips for applying for grants, a detailed glossary of common terms used throughout the directory, statistics on foundations serving victims and various population groups in Massachusetts, and additional resources and website links. Although current funding sources were extensively researched for this project, we know there are some funding sources that we inevitably missed. However, it is our hope that this Funding Directory will provide programs with some funding options of which they were not previously aware. We wish to publish subsequent editions in the future, and encourage you to inform our office of new funding sources or outdated information. We recognize the value of the work agencies provide to countless victims each day and how important it is to have the support to reach everyone who needs services to cope with their victimization.
