Population of active members by years of service The number of members eligible to retire (those with 20 or more years of service, or age 55 and over with 10 years of service) is 26,959, or 30% of the total population of 89,636 active members.
Retired members
Average benefit by present age While the average benefit by age will vary from year to year based on the ages of new retirees, it has steadily increased over the years, as evidenced by a right-to-left reading of the bar graph.
