Withdrawing your MTRS account
Your eligibility

YES—based on your answers, you may be eligible to withdraw your MTRS funds.

The refund application process requires that you take these two steps:

1. UNDERSTAND the basics.
   Know what it means to take a refund of your account:
   • the MTRS benefits you will lose if you withdraw your account;
   • important tax restrictions, penalties and provisions; and,
   • how you may choose to receive your payment
2. ACCESS the Refund Application.
   You will need to complete the application, print it out and mail it to our main office. Your Refund Application may not be submitted online.
