James H. Salvie, An attorney with the MTRS since 1997, Jim was appointed as General Counsel in March 2003 after serving as Associate and Deputy General Counsel. Before joining the MTRS, Jim was in private practice where he specialized in commercial litigation, municipal law, and professional liability defense. He is a 1986 graduate of The George Washington University Law School. Jim heads our Legal Department, which is also staffed by Deputy General Counsel James C. O’Leary (ext. 6838), Associate General Counsel Rob Fabino (ext. 6860), Disability Case Coordinator/Associate General Counsel Aaron Morrison (ext. 6817), and Administrative Assistant Marliquea Snow-Branch (ext. 6858). This unit represents the Board in various legal forums such as the Division of Administrative Law Appeals (DALA), the Contributory Retirement Appeals Board (CRAB) and the courts of the Commonwealth. Likewise, our attorneys advise the staff on legal issues as they arise. |
