- Imports processing window: The "Refresh" button has been removed
Now, when you load a file to MyTRS and click either Validate or Process, your window will automatically refresh the Status field to either "Processed successfully” or “Processed with errors.”
- Exception report in deduction report editor: “Missing person” list added
As you know, MyTRS checks your file and, if it does not find records for members for whom it is expecting records, it lists these members on your “Missing person” report. Now, the “Missing person” list will also appear at the end of your Exception report. (This change was made at the request of employer representatives, who suggested that, to prevent problems in the event that the “Missing person” list was overlooked, it would be helpful if all errors were consolidated in one report.)
- Navigate using the buttons, links and tabs ONLY
Do not use your browser’s Back or Forward buttons to navigate in MyTRS, as this may cause you to lose data. Always click the buttons, links and tabs to move from one window to another.
- Ensure that your hardware and software are compatible with MyTRS
Check the system requirements to make sure you are using compatible software. If you are not using one of the required browsers—or the specified version or mode—you will most likely experience problems using MyTRS.
- If you are paying by check, submit a Deduction Submittal Form
If you are still submitting your payment via a mailed check, please be sure to complete and enclose the Deduction Submittal Form (pdf; 1 page) so that we may properly apply your payment. (Please do not send us a Deduction Submittal Form if you are submitting your payments via Electronic Funds Transfer. Also, while we are working to accept payments via direct deposit, that function is not yet available.)
- When searching for employees by name, please use the “Lastname, Firstname” format
If you do not use this format when searching for your employees by name, MyTRS will not find them.
| General use of MyTRS |
| 1 |
Locked out (unable to log in) |
Contact your Security Administrator to unlock your account. If you are the Security Administrator, please contact your MTRS Employer Services Representative. |
| 2 |
Kicked out of the application at any time, including when on the phone with my MTRS Employer Services representative |
These four problems are among the most widely reported—and, we know, the most frustrating. Fortunately, they may be fixed by ensuring that your hardware and software are compatible with the system requirements. |
| 3 |
System runs very slowly |
| 4 |
Buttons either don’t work or they disappear |
| 5 |
Unable to find members by SSN search, but know they are in MyTRS |

| 6 |
“Missing person” report contains employees who correctly should not appear in report (e.g., those receiving lump-sum payments at the end of the summer) |
This is a Payroll Calendar issue and we are working to resolve it. |
| 7 |
Registration process: Employees appear as “not registered” after being registered |
This occurs when multiple employees are registered in succession. When registering more than one employee at a sitting, please hit “Reset” between each employee’s registration. |
| 8 |
File import: “Loaded successfully” message appears, but no records were loaded, or only the first record in the file was loaded, and the rest of the file was not |
We are working to resolve this problem and will notify users when it is fixed. |
| 9 |
Bank info for EFT payment: Unable to find bank when routing number begins with zero |
As of September 14, 2010, this issue has been fixed in MyTRS. |
| 1) |
I have been unable to submit my district’s deduction report via MyTRS, and I understand that you are working to resolve the problems. In the interim, what should I do about submitting my reports? |
| |
Please wait until you hear from us that the problems have been fixed (please do not submit your report on disk or CD, or continue to attempt to process your reports using MyTRS). As noted in our e-mail of August 31, 2010 to employer representatives, we expect deduction reports to be delayed during this initial start-up phase. Thank you for your continued understanding and support as we work to resolve the remaining issues. |
| 2) |
After I have registered a new employee, he or she cannot enroll online right away. Is this a problem with the system?
This is not a problem with the system. During this phase of the implementation of MyTRS, there will be one-day delay between the time that you register an employee and when that employee can enroll online. This overnight delay is required so that we can transfer the registration data that you have submitted from MyTRS to our enrollment database. |
