As an interim measure while we work to address the technical difficulties we are having with our online enrollment tool, we have substituted a downloadable form in its place:

MTRS Enrollment Form (pdf; 2 pages): Please complete page 1 of this form onscreen or by hand (or a combination), sign it, make a copy for your records, and then mail it to the MTRS for processing:

Important notice to NEW members
This means members who, on or after April 2, 2012, either newly enter the MTRS or any of the 104 other Massachusetts public retirement systems or re-enter a Massachusetts system after previously taking a refund from any such system; it does not apply to individuals with effective membership dates before April 2, 2012 and who, after April 2, 2012, are simply changing school districts within Massachusetts

As you may know, recent pension reform legislation significantly changed the benefit structure for individuals who become new members of the MTRS and all Massachusetts contributory retirement systems.

Please be advised that the information on our website does NOT yet reflect the changes affecting new members after April 2, 2012. We are now in the process of revising our website, and will post updated information as soon as possible. For an overview of the changes affecting new members, please see Chapter 176 of the Acts of 2011 for MTRS members.
