The Office of the Bar Counsel has an opening for an Assistant Bar Counsel to investigate and prosecute attorney discipline cases.  Requirements for the position include a minimum 5 years of practice experience, as well as knowledge of typical areas of legal practice, substantial trial and appellate experience, and superior writing and oral advocacy skills.  Excellent benefits, salary commensurate with experience.  Interested candidates should submit, by mail or email, a résumé and unedited writing sample by February 13, 2015 to:

INVESTIGATOR/PARALEGAL

The Office of the Bar Counsel seeks a full-time investigator/paralegal.

The mission of the Office of the Bar Counsel is to protect the public from unethical conduct by lawyers and to preserve and enhance the integrity and high standards of the bar.  The paralegal/investigator assists in the investigation, resolution, and prosecution of complaints of attorney misconduct.  Duties include, but are not limited to, obtaining records from various courts, interviewing witnesses, drafting reports and summaries, organizing case files and exhibits, conducting legal research, and assisting at hearings.  Excellent writing skills and proficiency in Word are essential.  Experience with Excel and Westlaw are strongly recommended.  Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are required.  Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and access to a car.  Bachelor’s degree required.
