Licensing Requirements For Entity Collecting Debts Of Deceased Debtors
Mass. Gen. Laws chapter 93, section 24 and its implementing regulation 209 CMR 18.00 et seq. set forth the Commonwealth's collection agency licensing requirements. Neither of these provisions exempts from the licensing requirement collectors of debt from deceased debtors. Additionally, 209 CMR 18.03 defines "debtor" to include a person or his administrator or executor.
