Empowering Healthcare Consumers: A Community Conversation Part II

The Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs & Business Regulation and the University of Massachusetts Medical School co-hosted a conference about empowering healthcare consumers on Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, MA.

This conference highlighted price and information transparency tools healthcare consumers can use to take charge of their health care and their health. The conference also featured an interactive audience exercise that focused on consumer attitudes toward healthcare prices and medical information. As part of this audience exercise, OCABR produced a video featuring staff as secret shoppers trying to use their own insurance company's website tool and phone number. That video can be viewed here.
