Governor Patrick announced that his administration will host a series of foreclosure prevention workshops to bring together mortgage lenders and homeowners so that homeowners may:
  1. speak one-on-one with lenders about loan modifications and alternatives to prevent foreclosure,
  2. meet with local housing and credit counselors, and
  3. attend educational seminars to learn about ways to save their homes. Multilingual counselors will be available at all workshops.

"Foreclosures represent a significant financial loss for homeowners and have a destabilizing effect on neighborhoods as vacancies increase and property values decline," said Daniel Crane, Undersecretary of the Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation. "By working together, we can help prevent foreclosures and keep our families, our communities, and our Commonwealth stable and secure."
