RE:Implementation of the Division of Insurance's Online Renewals for Licensed Business Entity Insurance Producers

The purpose of this Bulletin is to inform all licensed resident and non-resident business entity insurance producers of the implementation of the second phase of the Division of Insurance's ("Division") Online Licensing for Individuals and Entities system ("OLLIE"). The Division launched the first phase of OLLIE, allowing licensed individual insurance producers to renew their producer licenses online, in September of 2007.

Licensed resident and non-resident business entity insurance producers are now able to renew their producer licenses online using OLLIE and pay the associated fees in a secure online environment via EFT/ACH electronic funds transfer. Fees for online license renewals through OLLIE may not be paid by credit card at this time.

Electronic renewal applications for licensed business entity insurance producers that do not require additional Division review will be processed immediately, and the Division will issue email notifications to business entities of their license renewals within 48 hours of submitting a completed application, along with the associated fee, online. Comprehensive instructions, including a PIN, for online license renewal using OLLIE will be included in future renewal notices sent by the Division to licensed resident and non-resident business entity insurance producers. All license renewal fees will remain the same. The renewed licenses will be mailed to the business entity's mailing address within approximately eight days.

In addition, licensed business entity insurance producers may now use the Producer Profile feature on the OLLIE site to add additional information about their business entities that is not reported to the Division as part of the license renewal process. Licensing data and profile data, which may include branch office locations, will be viewable to consumers on the "AgentFinder" feature of the "InsureMASS" portion of the Division's website, located at http://www.agentfinder.doi.state.ma.us/. The "AgentFinder" feature allows consumers to search for licensed insurance producers using an individual's name, business entity's name, city or town, or a certain number of miles from a designated zip code. Consumers will be able to search for individual and business entity insurance producers that offer a specific product line (e.g., auto insurance or homeowners insurance), that are appointed by (an agent for) a particular insurance company, or that are affiliated with a particular insurance company. Each branch office entered in the producer profile is independently searchable. The "AgentFinder" feature has been available to and used by consumers to locate information regarding individual insurance producers since January of 2008.

The Division anticipates that the implementation of the second phase of the OLLIE online license renewal system will streamline and accelerate the license renewal process for business entities, as it has for individual licensed insurance producers. The OLLIE system may be accessed with your assigned PIN at http://www.ollieisabreeze.com .
