Hearing Scheduled for March 31, 2010
Pursuant to M.G.L. c. 30A, and in accordance with the authority granted to the Commissioner of Insurance under M.G.L. c. 176G, § 17, the Division of Insurance ("Division") will hold a public hearing at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at the offices of the Division, 1000 Washington Street, Hearing Room 111, 1st Floor, Boston, Massachusetts 02118, regarding the emergency amendments to regulation 211 CMR 43.00, Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs).
The purpose of this hearing is to afford all interested persons an opportunity to provide oral and/or written comment regarding the emergency amendments to the regulation. The emergency amendments require health maintenance organizations to file any proposed increases to small group rates or changes to rating factors, along with supporting materials, 30 days in advance of their effective dates. The proceedings concerning the emergency amendments to 211 CMR 43.00 are designated as Docket No. G2010-04.
Any person who wishes to provide oral comment about 211 CMR 43.00 is requested to file a Notice of Intent to Comment with the Division on or before Friday, March 26, 2010. All other persons who wish to provide oral comment will be heard after those who notify the Division in advance. Written comments may be submitted until the record of the hearing is closed and must refer to Docket G2010-04. Comments submitted prior to March 19, 2010 must be sent to: Docket Clerk, Hearings and Appeals, Division of Insurance, One South Station, Boston, Massachusetts 02110-2208. Comments submitted after March 19, 2010 must be sent to: Docket Clerk, Hearings and Appeals, Division of Insurance, 1000 Washington Street, 8th Floor, Boston, Massachusetts 02118. Copies of the emergency regulation are available from the Docket Clerk or from the Division's website at www.mass.gov/doi.
