|Hearing scheduled for November 21, 2008|
Pursuant to M.G. L. c. 30A, and in accordance with the authority granted to the Commissioner of Insurance under M.G.L. c. 176R, §6, the Division of Insurance ("Division") will hold a public hearing at 10:00 a.m. on November 21, 2008, at the offices of the Division, One South Station, Fifth Floor, Boston, MA 02110-2208, regarding the proposed amendments to regulation 211 CMR 52.00, Managed Care Consumer Protections and Accreditation of Carriers.
The purpose of this hearing is to afford all interested persons an opportunity to provide oral and/or written comment regarding the proposed amendments to the regulation. The proposed amendments to 211 CMR 52.00 Proposed(Clean) . Proposed(Redlined) require, among other items, managed care organizations to recognize nurse practitioners as participating providers and/or primary care providers on a nondiscriminatory basis and carriers who utilize behavioral health managers to comply with requirements for disclosures. The proceedings concerning the proposed amendments to 211 CMR 52.00 are designated as Docket No. G2008-09.
Any person who wishes to provide oral comment about 211 CMR 52.00 is requested to file a Notice of Intent to Comment with the Division on or before November 14, 2008. All other persons who wish to provide oral comment will be heard after those who notify the Division in advance. Written comments may be submitted until the record of the hearing is closed. All submissions must be sent to: Docket Clerk, Hearings and Appeals, Division of Insurance, One South Station, Boston, Massachusetts 02110-2208, and must refer to Docket No. G2008-09.
