Pursuant to M.G.L. c. 141, Section 2; c. 30A; and c. 112, Section 61, the Board of State Examiners of Electricians will hold two public hearings relative to proposed promulgation of amendments to the Board's regulations at 237 CMR 12.00 (Definitions), 13.00 (Eligibility Criteria for Initial Licensure), 14.00 (Examinations for Licensure), 18.00 (Rules Governing Practice), and 22.00 (Required Electrical Education). By the proposed amendments, the Board is proposing to update and amend qualifications for licensure by the Board including ending the "300 hour" program, clarifying and improving rules surrounding applications and examinations, spelling out the mandate for all licensees to cooperate in Board investigations and creating basic rules for electrical education providers. The first hearing will be held at 10:00 a.m. on September 8, 2008 at the Board's offices within the Division of Professional Licensure, 239 Causeway Street, Boston, MA 02114 in Room 206. The second hearing will be held at 10:00 a.m. on September 12, 2008 at 436 Dwight St. in Springfield, MA. Interested Parties will be given an opportunity to present testimony orally or in writing at these hearings.
