The Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation launched a voluntary, mediation (non-binding decision) process where municipalities and wireless carriers can resolve disputes as a faster and less costly alternative to federal and/or state court. This program will enable parties to come together with a qualified and impartial mediator to help facilitate a mutually agreeable resolution to wireless facility siting disputes. The integrative nature of mediation also allows parties more control, and allows for the parties to maintain a close and amicable relationship during and after the process. This unique state program will be offered at no cost to taxpayers and is believed to be the first of its kind in the nation.
