Hearing Scheduled for July 29, 2005

Pursuant to the authority granted to the Commissioner of Insurance under Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 30A, c. 175, §113B, and c. 176D a hearing will be held on July 29, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the Division of Insurance, One South Station, Boston, MA. The purpose of this hearing is to afford all interested parties an opportunity to provide oral and written testimony regarding proposed amendments to 211 CMR 134.00, which regulates the Safe Driver Insurance Plan ("SDIP"). The proposed amendments establish the standards and procedures that insurance companies are to use to implement the SDIP with respect to automobile insurance policies issued or renewed on or after January 1, 2006.

Any person who wishes to testify concerning the proposed amendments to 211 CMR 134.00 is requested to submit a Notice of Intent to Testify no later than July 27, 2005. All other interested persons will be heard after those who notify the Division in advance. Persons wishing to submit written comments may do so before July 29 or until such time as the record in this proceeding is closed. All notices and submissions must be sent to the Docket Clerk, Hearings and Appeals, Division of Insurance, One South Station, Boston, MA 02110-2208, and shall refer to Docket No. G2005-03. The proposed amendments to 211 CMR 134.00 may be viewed at the Division during normal business hours; copies are also available from the Division.
