Hearing scheduled for January 20, 2009

Pursuant to M.G. L. c. 30A, and in accordance with the authority granted to the Commissioner of Insurance under M.G.L. c. 175, § 113A, § 113F, § 193R and M.G.L. c. 175E, § 10, the Division of Insurance ("Division") will hold a public hearing at 10:00 a.m. on January 20, 2009, at the offices of the Division, One South Station, Fifth Floor, Boston, MA 02110-2208, regarding the proposed regulation 211 CMR 97.00, Cancellation and Non-Renewal of Motor Vehicle Insurance Policies.

The purpose of this hearing is to afford all interested persons an opportunity to provide oral and/or written comment regarding the proposed regulation, which sets out requirements relating to the cancellation and non-renewal of motor vehicle insurance policies, including the content of notices of cancellation or non-renewal, and the requirements for providing notice. The proceeding concerning the is designated as Docket No. G2008-11.

Any person who wishes to provide oral comment about 211 CMR 97.00 is requested to file a Notice of Intent to Comment with the Division on or before January 16, 2009. All other persons who wish to provide oral comment will be heard after those who notify the Division in advance. Written comments may be submitted until the record of the hearing is closed. All submissions must be sent to: Docket Clerk, Hearings and Appeals, Division of Insurance, One South Station, Boston, Massachusetts 02110-2208, and must refer to Docket No. G2008-11. Copies of the proposed regulation are available from the Docket Clerk or from the Division's website at www.mass.gov/doi.
