Introduction to New Website Interface

Hello and welcome to our new website. We have taken some big steps in redesigning our website to help you find what you need and best utilize our many resources. The Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation’s website has information on your rights as a consumer, news on recent scams and investigations, all of the information professionals need to become licensed, and much more. We looked at how people were using our website, where they were going for information and how they were getting there, and we used that data to reorganize and to redesign. Now you will be able to find the information you need faster than ever.

The most effective and noticeable change that we have made has been to our navigation bar located at the top of our page. Once we knew what consumers were most interested in finding, we brought that information to the forefront and organized it in a logical and clear way. For example, you can mouse over the “Banking & Finance” panel to find information on Basic Banking and student loans or the “Insurance” panel for information on insuring your home or vehicle. You can click on any one of those panels and you will be brought to a page where our most helpful resources and contact information will be displayed.

These are the first of many changes we will start to implement to create a more user-friendly and consumer-friendly experience. I hope you will find these updates to be as helpful as we have, and please, send us your feedback as we continue to work towards creating the best consumer information experience for all Massachusetts citizens.
