The State Board of Dispensing Opticians announced today disciplinary action against the following licensees:
John R. Streil, Newbury
The Board revoked Streil's license to practice as a dispensing optician as well as his right to renew his license as a result of a Default Judgment against him. Streil failed to respond to Board allegations that he was practicing while his license was expired. Streil also failed to provide the Board with his continuing education documentation upon request.
San Khan, Lynn
The Board has issued a $1,000 fine against Khan by default effective March 4, 2009. The Board discovered that Khan performed Dispensing Optician services on or about Feb. 10, 2006 at Wal-Mart Vision Center in Lynn without having the proper license to do so.
