Pursuant to 239 CMR 4.02(4), funeral homes are required to provide a Board-approved Buyer’s Guide to every person who enters into negotiations or discussions with a registered licensed funeral director regarding a pre-need funeral contract. Funeral homes must provide the consumer with this Board-approved Buyer’s Guide prior to entering into any pre-need funeral contract. This form must be used to meet the requirements under Board regulations. A funeral home, however, can provide additional consumer information and disclosures that comply with applicable state and federal regulations.
