I have a foreign degree or US college level education that is not ABET accredited, but I think it should be considered acceptable. What can I do?

If you hold a foreign degree or have US based college level education that is not ABET accredited then you may seek a credentials evaluation from NCEES. The Board will accept education deemed to meet the NCEES educational standard as equivalent to an ABET degree for the purposes of determining if you meet the educational requirements for a given application classification under which one may apply for licensure. To find out how to seek a credentials evaluation please visit www.ncees.org .

I'm applying by comity to become licensed as a Structural Engineer in Massachusetts but have only taken the Structural I exam in another state. How does the new NCEES 16 hour examination affect me?

The Board, at its September 30th, 2010 meeting, voted to continue granting comity registrations for those Structural Engineers who became licensed in another state prior to our adoption of the NCEES requirement for a 16 hour structural exam, provided that the applicant meet all other Massachusetts registration requirements at the time of their original registration as a structural, e.g. education, experience, etc.
