On May 7, 2008, the Board of State Examiners of Plumbers and Gas Fitters ("Board") voted to affirm that all corporations which employ licensed plumbers and gas fitters and contract those employees to do plumbing or gas fitting work for third parties, even on a temporary basis, are subject to the licensing provisions of Massachusetts General Law Chapter 142 and the rules found in Chapter 248 of the Code of Massachusetts Regulations (CMR). The Board invites public comment with regards to this interpretation. Written comments may be sent to the Board at 239 Causeway Street, Boston, MA 02114.
