VARIANCE REQUESTS:

VR1)  DR. SCOTADAM CHERNOV – 322 MAIN STREET - GLOUCESTER

The Petitioner (Dr. Scotadam Chernov) requests a variance from 248 CMR Section 10.10, (18) Table 1 to allow the installation of one (1) unisex handicap rest room in lieu of the required two (2) rest rooms. Additionally, the petitioner is seeking relief from the shower requirement at this location. The Gloucester Board of Health is in favor this variance request.

VR2)  UMASS AMHERST – KENNEDY HOUSE – 620 MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE - AMHERST

The Petitioner (Mr. Raymond Vincent, from C.A. Crowley Engineering) requests a variance from 248 CMR Section 10.10, (18) Table 1 to allow the installation of one (1) unisex handicap rest room in lieu of the required two (2) rest rooms. As this is a State project, a Board of Health letter is not required.

VR3)   MASS COLLEGE OF ART  -  621 HUNTINGTON AVENUE  -  BOSTON

The Petitioner (William Brady, from Vanderweil) requests a variance from 248 CMR Section 10.10, (18) Table 1  to reduce the number of drinking fountains required from fourteen (14) to eight (8). As this is a State project, a Board of Health letter is not required.

VR4)   UMASS AMHERST - ACADEMIC BUILDING - 300 MASSACHUSETTS AVE - AMHERST

The Petitioner (Jeremy Mason, from RJA Group) requests a variance from 248 CMR Section 10.10, (18) Table 1 to vary from the drinking fountain requirements. As this is a State project, a Board of Health letter is not required.

VR5)   MASSACHUSETTS CONVENTION CENTER  -  415 SUMMER STREET  -  BOSTON

The Petitioner (Ethan Field) requests a variance from 248 CMR Section 3.04 (1) to allow the installation of custom made stainless steel replacement trench drains. As this is a State project, a Board of Health letter is not required.

VR6) DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATION & RECREATION - 149 WAQUOIT HIGHWAY - WAQUOIT

The Petitioner (Joseph Yetman, from DCR) requests a variance from 248 CMR Section 10.10, (18) Table 1 to allow the installation of one (1) unisex handicap rest room in lieu of the required two (2) rest rooms. As this is a State project, a Board of Health letter is not required.

VR7) STEWARD HEALTH CARE SYSTEMS – 100 INDUSTRIAL PARK ROAD - TAUNTON

The Petitioner (Keith Davignon, from Vision 3 Architects) requests a variance from 248 CMR Section 10.10, (18) Table 1 to provide relief from the shower requirement at this location. The Taunton Board of Health is in favor this variance request.

Appearing is Apprentice plumber Brian Richard Hayes and Master plumber Paul Gedick to discuss discrepancies in the Plumbing Examination Application filed by Mr. Hayes on September 16, 2011.
