VARIANCE REQUESTS:

VR-97) HINGHAM HIGH SCHOOL – 220 CENTRAL STREET - HINGHAM

The Petitioner (Ms. Dorothy Galo, Superintendent) requests consideration on a variance previously heard by the Board on November 28, 2012. The petitioner is seeking relief from the fixture count requirements for the planned field project. The Hingham Board of Health Agent believes this is a valid request.

VR-135) BREAKWATER FISH & LOBSTER – 235 UNDERPASS RD – BREWSTER          

The Petitioner (Mr. Curtis Collias, Owner/President) requests a variance from) requests a variance from 248 CMR 10.06 to allow the use of PVC in a commercial application.  The petitioner provided this office with a copy of the petition letter sent to the Brewster Board of Health.

VR-141) BOSTON CONVENTION CENTER – 415 SUMMER STREET - BOSTON       

The Petitioner (Mr. Dan Jolliff, from US Roaster Corporation) requests a variance from 248 CMR 3.04 (Product Acceptance) to allow the temporary installation of a Probat Burns 20,000 BTU coffee roaster which has not been accepted by the Board for installation in Massachusetts.  As this is a State project, no Board of Health letter is required.

VR-146) MT AUBURN HOSPITAL – 330 MT AUBURN ST – WOBURN

The Petitioner (Mr. Thomas Hannon of Commonwealth Plumbing) requests a variance from 248 CMR 3.04 to allow the installation of a one-of-a-kind birthing tub, Aqua-Eez 3000S. Cambridge Inspectional Services supports this request.

VR-149) NASHOBA VALLEY MEDICAL CENTER PT PAVILION – 200 GROTON RD – AYER    

The Petitioner (Ms. J. Camie Maze, Senior Associate, Steffian Bradley Architects) requests a variance from 248 CMR 10.10 (18) to allow the installation of three rest rooms in lieu of the required number.  The Ayer Board of Health supports this request.

VR-150) MAYVAL FARM – 149 EASTHAMPTON RD – WESTHAMPTON

The Petitioner (Mr. Henry Parsons, Co-Owner) requests a variance from 248 CMR (Code of Massachusetts Regulation) 10.00, the Uniform State Plumbing Code, Section 10.06 (2) (o) (2) to allow PVC pipe in lieu of cast iron pipe for creamery wash water. The Westhampton Board of Health supports this applicant’s request.

VR-148) Board Authorized Pre-Approval

PRECISION LASIK – 100 SYLVAN RD 300 TC128 S-7690 – WOBURN

The Petitioner (Mr. Michael Aveni, Project Architect, Atlantic Boston Construction) requests a variance from 248 CMR Section 10.10.18.  Petitioner seeks relief from the shower requirement of the “Medical/Healthcare Building” section of Table 1.  The Woburn Board of Health takes no position on this applicant’s request.
