3.   VARIANCE REQUESTS:

VR-178) AVALON BAY COMMUNITIES PARCEL 4 – 75 FOLEY STREET - SOMERVILLE

The Petitioner (Mr. Frank Tebagy) requests a variance from 248 CMR 10.06 to allow the use of CPVC in a six story building above 60’.  The Somerville Board of Health has been petitioned regarding this variance request.

VR-192) BRISTOL- PLYMOUTH REGIONAL TECHNICAL SCHOOL – 207 HART ST. – TAUNTON

The Petitioner (MR. Stephen Poelaert, Supervisor, Buildings & Grounds) requests a variance from 248 CMR 10.10 to allow the elimination of eight (8) showers and the renovation of six (6) other showers.  The Taunton Board of Health has no objection to this variance request.

VR-197) MONG KOT PICH BEAUTY SALON – 307 WESTFORD ST. – LOWELL

The Petitioner (Ms. Meth Heng, Owner) requests a variance from 248 CMR 3.04 to allow the use of two pedicure spa chairs manufactured by New Stars, LLC.  These are non-Board accepted. The Lowell Board of Health has no objection to this variance request.

VR-198) GARDNER ALE HOUSE – 74 PARKER ST. – GARDNER

The Petitioner (Mr. Rich Walton, Owner, Gardner Ale House) requests a variance from 248 CMR 10.10 to allow an additional 42 outdoor seats with no additional toilet facilities. The Gardner Board of Health is aware of this variance request.

VR-204) BLUE HILL CEMETERY – 700 WEST ST. – BRAINTREE

The Petitioner (Mr. Michael McCarthy, Project Manager, J. Derenzo Co.) requests a variance from 248 CMR Section 10.10 to allow a single unisex toilet in the proposed building.  The Braintree Board of Health takes no position regarding this variance request.

VR-213) DCR PROPERTY - GREAT BROOK DAIRY – 247 NORTH STREET - CARLISLE

The Petitioner (Mr. Mark Duffy) requests a variance from 248 CMR, Section 10.10 to eliminate the rest room requirement for patrons in the same building. Other facilities are available on site. As this is a state project, no Board of Health letter is required.

VR-217) TEMPLETON HOUSING AUTHORITY – 99 BRIDGE STREET - BALDWINVILLE

The Petitioner (Mr. Mike Lahey, Journeyman Plumber) requests a variance from 248 CMR 10.14 to approve (post-installation) a domestic water heater that has not been Board accepted.   The petitioner provided this office with a copy of the petition letter sent to the Templeton Board of Health.

VR-219) UMASS MEDICAL SCHOOL – 55 LAKE AVENUE NORTH - WORCESTER

The Petitioner (Mr. Mark Terry from DECCO) requests a variance from 248 CMR 3.04 to allow the use of a heat exchange which is not Board accepted. As this is a state project, no Board of Health letter is required.

VR-220) BASIL KARANASTIS – 12 WOOD STREET – LOWELL 

The Petitioner (Mr. Keith Sor) requests a variance from 248 CMR, Section 3.04 to allow the use of pedicure spa chairs manufactured by Pretty Salon USA.  These are non-Board accepted. The Lowell Board of Health has no objection to this variance request.

VR-224) ARBORPOINT AT MARKET STREET – KING RAIL ROAD - LYNNFIELD

The Petitioner (Mr. Thomas Curtin) requests a variance from 248 CMR 10.06 to Allow the installation of PVC through a commercial area.  The Lynnfield Board of Health has been petitioned regarding this request.

VR-225) DCR – MASON MEMORIAL POOL – AGAWAM

The Petitioner (Mr. Michael Stiller) requests a variance from 248 CMR 10.12 (f) 3 & 4 to allow the pool filter discharge to be connected to the sanitary sewer.  As this is a state project, no Board of Health letter is required.

VR-206) DCR – RYAN MEMORIAL POOL – MATTAPAN

The Petitioner (Mr. Michael Stiller) requests a variance from 248 CMR 10.12 (f) 3 & 4 to allow the pool filter discharge to be connected to the sanitary sewer.  As this is a state project, no Board of Health letter is required.
