VARIANCE REQUESTS:

PV20) SOUTHWICK ZOO – 2 SOUTHWICK STREET - MENDON

The Petitioner (Justine Brewer) requests a variance from 248 CMR (Code of Massachusetts Regulation) 10.06. The Petitioner would like to install PVC for the sanitary drainage in their new building currently under construction to house small animals for the winter. The Mendon Board of Health supports this request.

PV21) DDS HOGAN REGIONAL CENTER – 450 MAPLE STREET - DANVERS

The Petitioner (Mr. Kevin Drew, Master Plumber) requests a variance from 248 CMR (Code of Massachusetts Regulation) 3.00, the Uniform State Plumbing Code, Section 3.04 (1). The Petitioner is seeking a waiver to allow the installation of a whirlpool tub that is not product accepted. As this is a State project no Board of Health letter is required.

PV278) CHINA STAR RESTAURANT – 1773 MIDDLESEX STREET – LOWELL

The Petitioner (Mr. James Chan) requests a variance from 248 CMR (Code of Massachusetts Regulation) 10.00, the Uniform State Plumbing Code, Section 10.10 (18) Table 1. The Petitioner notes the present occupancy is 180 persons. The men’s room has 3-water closets and 3-urinals. The women’s room has 3 water closets. The owner is seeking to increase the occupancy to 300 without add toilet facilities. The Lowell Board of Health concurs with the request. The Health Director sent the concurrence to the plumbing inspector and building commissioner and they had no objection to the request.
