VARIANCE REQUESTS:

Vr1) HULL'S KITCHEN - 19 HULL SHORE DRIVE - HULL

The Petitioner (Mr. Jeffrey Weeks, Owner) requests a variance from 248 CMR (Code of Massachusetts Regulation) 10.00, the Uniform State Plumbing Code, Section 10.10 (18) (b) 2. c. to allow the installation of one unisex handicap accessible restroom in lieu of the required two. The Town of Hull Board of Health one unisex restroom is adequate, as long as compliance with Architectural Access Board, Building and Plumbing Departments is met..

VR2a FITCHBURG STATE UNIVERSITY-HAMMOND CENTER - 160 PEARL STREET

The Petitioner (Mr. Ralph J. Mulcahy, Plumbing & Fire Protection Designer) requests a variance from 248 CMR (Code of Massachusetts Regulation) 10.00, the Uniform State Plumbing Code, Section 10.10 (18) (i) to apply this section during phase-1 construction and utilize the new elevator to access restroom fixtures on the 2 nd floor. Until Phase-2 can be carried out. As this is a State Project, no Board of Health letter is required.

Vr2b FITCHBURG STATE UNIVERSITY-HAMMOND CENTER - 160 PEARL STREET

The Petitioner (Mr. Ralph J. Mulcahy, Plumbing & Fire Protection Designer) requests a variance from 248 CMR (Code of Massachusetts Regulation) 10.00, the Uniform State Plumbing Code, Section 10.10 (18) (m). The petitioner states the existing restrooms on the 3 rd floor are not accessible and are not within the scope of work. The petitioner is proposing to add a unixex ADA accessible restroom within the area of the scope of work on the 3 rd floor to accommodate thos occupants needing accessible fixtures. As this is a State Project, no Board of Health letter is required.

VR3) BATTLEGROUND GAMES & HOBBIES - 25 TAUNTON STREET - PLAINVILLE

The Petitioner (Mr. Derek Lloyd, Owner) requests a variance from 248 CMR (Code of Massachusetts Regulation) 10.00, the Uniform State Plumbing Code, Section 10.10 (18) (i) to allow 1-unisex handicap accessible restroom in lieu of the required two.. The Plainville Board of Health supports the rules and regulations of the State Plumbing Code.

VR4) DENTAL OFFICE - 234 PLEASANT STREET - METHUEN

The Petitioner (Mr. STEVE DESJARDINS) requests a variance from 248 CMR (Code of Massachusetts Regulation) 10.00, the Uniform State Plumbing Code, Section 10.18 (k) 1., 2. to allow one unisex handicap accessible restroom in lieu of the required two. In addition the petitioner requests a portable water fountain be allowed in lieu of the required drinking fountain.. The Methuen Board of Health approves this variance request.

VR5) AFTER FX CUSTOMS - 204 DEXTER AVENUE - WATERTOWN

The Petitioner (Mr. Raymond Gast, Owner) requests a variance from 248 CMR (Code of Massachusetts Regulation) 10.00, the Uniform State Plumbing Code, Section 10.09 (1) (b) to not require the installation of a Gas/Oil/Sand Separator. The Watertown Board of Health is not opposed to the submittal of the request. The Board of Health is not opposed to the comments provided by the Plumbing Inspector.

VR6) MA DEPARTMENT OF MENTAL HEALTH - 20 VINING STREET - BOSTON

The Petitioner (Michael Slezak, Principal) requests a variance from 248 CMR (Code of Massachusetts Regulation) 10.00, the Uniform State Plumbing Code, Section 10.09 (2) to not require the installation a grease interceptor in the kitchen of this facility. As this is a State Project, a Board of Health letter is not required.

VR7) MBTA-YAWKEY COMMUTER STATION-85 BROOKLINE AVENUE-BOSTON

The Petitioner (Luba Beszverkhny, Engineer) requests a variance from 248 CMR (Code of Massachusetts Regulation) 3.00, the Uniform State Plumbing Code Code, Section 10.10 (18) Table 1 to omit the installation of restrooms in the open platform station structure. As this is a state project, no Board of Health letter is required

VR8) MA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTION - COLONY ROAD - GARDNER

The Petitioner (Dennis Suprenant) requests a variance from 248 CMR (Code of Massachusetts Regulation) 10.00, the Uniform State Plumbingl Gas Code, Section 3.04 (1) to allow the installation of stainless steel sinks which had a previous product approval. The urinals were purchased when the product was approved and are not returnable. As this is a State Project, no Board of Health letter is required.
