VARIANCE REQUESTS:
VR1) LATITUDE 43 RESTAURANT - 25 ROGERS STREET - GLOUCESTER
The Petitioner (Suzanne Waitkus) requests a variance from 248 CMR (Code of Massachusetts Regulation) 3.00, the Uniform State Plumbing and Fuel Gas Code, Section 3.04 (1) to allow the installation of a Moderna wood/gas combination pizza oven from Forno Bravo that is not listed on the Board's products accepted for listing website. As this is a gas variance, a Board of Health letter is not required.
VR2) GENZYME - NYA BIOLOGICS CENTER - 68 NEW YORK AVENUE - FRAMINGHAM
The Petitioner (David Ayer, President Ayre Sales, Inc.) requests a variance from 248 CMR (Code of Massachusetts Regulation) 3.00 and 10.00 , the Uniform State Plumbing Code, Section 3.04 (1) and 10.13 to allow the use of IPEX Enpure Piping System, that is not listed on the Board's products accepted for listing website. The Framingham Board of Health supports the variance request as indicated in the letter.
VR3) REBEL RESTAURANT - 240 SEAPORT BOULEVARD - BOSTON
The Petitioner (Patrick Keohane, AVAL & Associates) requests a variance from 248 CMR (Code of Massachusetts Regulation) 10.00, the Uniform State Plumbing Code, Section 10 to allow the use of PVC piping for the under slab piping material in lieu of cast iron. As this is a State Project no Board of Health letter is required.
VR4) TOWN HALL ANNEX - 60 THE COMMON - PHILLIPSTON
The Petitioner requests a variance from 248 CMR (Code of Massachusetts Regulation) 10.00, the Uniform State Plumbing and Fuel Gas Code, Section 10.10 (18) Table 1 to allow the installation of a unisex handicap accessible restroom in lieu of the required two. The Phillipston Board of Health voted favorably for this variance.
VR5) D'YOUVILLE SENIOR CARE - 981 VARNUM AVENUE - LOWELL
The Petitioner (Matthew Kitner, Director of Buildings) requests a variance from 248 CMR (Code of Massachusetts Regulation) 10.00, the Uniform State Plumbing Code, Section 10.10 (18) (i) 2.,3 and 10.10 (18) (m) to allow the installation of a unisex handicap accessible restroom for employees in lieu of the required two non-handicap accessible restrooms. The Lowell Board of Health concurs the variance request is reasonable.
VR6) UMASS MEDICAL SCHOOL - 55 LAKE STREET-NORTH - WORCESTER
The Petitioner (Ronald Howie, Principal) requests a variance from 248 CMR (Code of Massachusetts Regulation) 10.00, the Uniform State Plumbing Code, Section 10.06 (2) (o) 3 to allow the installation of PVC piping to serve the outside Gray Water System in lieu of cast iron. As this is a State Project no Board of Health letter is required.

D2) TOPIC - UA LOCAL 51 - PLUMBING CURRICULUM
Now appears Mr. David Marland, Training Coordinator to discuss the establishment of a MA Theory School for its Massachusetts members at Bristol Community College and the Tier Plumbing Curriculum.
EXAMINATION WAIVER(S):
EW1) Now appears Luis Aguiar who has passed Part-2 of the Journeyman examination but has failed Part 1 six times, and is seeking approval to take Part-1 again.
EW2) Now appears Mario D'Ascenzo who has failed the journeyman examination six (6) times and is seeking approval to take the examination with the assistance of a reader.
