VARIANCE REQUESTS:

VR 1 DCR - MELINA REC. CTR. - 120 MARTIN LUTHER KING HWY - ROXBURY

The Petitioner (Raul Silva, Deputy Chief Engineer) requests a variance from 248 CMR (Code of Massachusetts Regulation) 10.00, the Uniform State Plumbing Code, Section 10.10(18)(i) to allow access to toilet facilities that are greater than the 300' required by Code. As this is a State project no Board of Health letter is required.

VR 2 SUMNER WHITTIER SCHOOL - 329 BROADWAY - EVERETT

The Petitioner (Joseph Pedulla, Purchasing Agent) requests a variance from 248 CMR (Code of Massachusetts Regulation) 10.00, the Uniform State Plumbing Code, Section 10.10(18)(h)5 to allow the demolition of two existing restrooms in the kitchen and to construct one single new and larger unisex handicap accessible restroom. The Everett Board of Health voted to support this variance request.

VR 3 FLAX POND PARK - NORTH MAIN STREET - SOUTH YARMOUTH

The Petitioner (Mr. Peter J. Staub, Assistant Town Administrator) requests a variance from 248 CMR (Code of Massachusetts Regulation) 10.00, the Uniform State Plumbing Code, Section 10.02(6) and 10.10(18) Table 1 to defer the requirement of installing designated restrooms for the Phase-1 project. Current plans include restrooms for the Phase-2 project. The Yarmouth Board Health's position is that the current toilet facilities are adequate as the town proceeds to construct a new building in two phases that will contain additional toilet facilities.

VR4 CUMBERLAND FARMS - 41 MAIN STREET - KINGSTON

The Petitioner (Ms. Kathleen Sousa, Land Planning Manager) requests a variance from 248 CMR (Code of Massachusetts Regulation) 10.00, the Uniform State Plumbing Code, Section 10.10(18)(i)4 to allow the installation of one (1) unisex handicap accessible restroom in lieu of the required two non handicap accessible employee restrooms. Mr. Henry Walters, Kingston Health Agent, has no interest in petitioning or supporting this request.

VR F WILKINSON WATER DISTRICT - 13A PROVIDENCE ROAD - SUTTON

The Petitioner (Ms. Janet Clark, Chair) requests a variance from 248 CMR (Code of Massachusetts Regulation) 10.00, the Uniform State Plumbing Code, Section 10.13(1)(L3) regarding the proposed installation of an emergency eye wash and shower. Issues of concern are: the location, product approval, and temperature required. The Sutton Board of Health supports this variance request.

Now appears Thomas Hatfield, BA and David Marland, Training Coordinator to discuss the requirements to become an "Approved Theory School" in Massachusetts.

Review discuss and deliberate the information provided by the Rehoboth Plumbing and Gas Inspector.

APPEAL OF AN INSPECTOR'S DECISION

A1D 1 Now appears Robert B. Power of 38 Angela Street, Canton, appealing the decision of the Canton Plumbing and Gas Inspector, Mr. Mark Zade.
