By the Division of Banks

If your company already has a record in the NMLS, since you are or were once licensed/registered in another state participating in NMLS, then applying for a license in Massachusetts merely involves filing your company's NMLS record (Form MU1) and relevant branch records (Form MU3) with Massachusetts through NMLS and mailing in the required jurisdiction-specific requirements to the Division.

If your company does not currently have a record in the NMLS and is interested in applying for a mortgage lender and/or mortgage broker License in Massachusetts, getting started is easy. The NMLS website will walk you through all the steps here: Getting Started on NMLS

New applicants should review the Division's jurisdiction-specific items here: NMLS State Licensing Resource Page, and should also review Massachusetts Statute and Regulations, available on the Division's website by clicking on "Apply for or Amend a License" under "Online Services" and following the links, or by clicking here: MA Statute and Regulations

Please note that NMLS will support Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 or greater and Firefox 2.0 or greater, and all browsers must be JavaScript enabled in order to use the Mortgage Licensing System. NMLS also requires a high-speed Internet connection.
