With certain exceptions, all documents made or received by this agency are public records. The laws and regulations addressing access to public records and the specific exemptions from public disclosure are found in M.G.L. c.4, §7(26)(a-m), M.G.L. c.66, §10 and 950 CMR 32.00.

Requests for documents may be made orally or in writing. Purely public documents may be viewed and copied at the Division's office by scheduled appointment. The charge for copies is 20¢ per page and checks must be made payable to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. For documents containing both public and exempt information, Division staff will remove the exempt data prior to release. There is an additional charge for the time spent removing exempt data, which varies by request.
