Division Of Insurance Holds Home Insurance Listening Sessions
Invites comment on affordability, availability, sales, marketing and other topics
BOSTON - The Division of Insurance will launch a series of informational hearings on the marketing and sale of homeowners’ insurance policies in Massachusetts at the City Council Chambers of Lowell City Hall on Wednesday, October 21st at 2 pm. Five additional hearings will be held over the next two months.
The hearings will assist the Division in investigating the home insurance market in the state, including the availability and affordability of homeowners’ insurance, consumer experience with decisions to deny applications for coverage, and how consumers are notified of potential rate and coverage changes or coverage options. The public and the insurance industry are encouraged to make oral comments concerning these matters at the hearings, or to provide written comments via email to DOI.HOI.firstname.lastname@example.org. The Division may, after the conclusion of the hearings, issue a decision, create or require additional guidance for consumers and industry regarding rates and/or products, or take any other actions deemed necessary or appropriate with regard to the issues considered at the hearings.
