AO-13-01 The Winslow Committee can pay a commercially reasonable amount to a non-profit organization for a good or service. Additionally, the committee can organize fundraising events at different venues in the same communities where the non-profit's events take place, even if the expenses for travel to and from the communities are paid for by the non-profit. Also, a candidate can be a principal officer of the non-profit organization.
AO-13-02 A candidate for governor can raise funds for his campaign committee while traveling to earn personal income as a public speaker. This opinion addresses when travel costs must be paid by the campaign committee.
