Prior to its amendment on January 1, 2010, Section 10A of the Massachusetts campaign finance law required the disclosure of joint fundraising activities by one or more political committees. 970 CMR 2.12 required political committees that wished to engage in joint fundraising to organize a special committee to carry out their joint fundraising activities. These special committees were required to file disclosure reports for each fundraising event that listed the date of the event, the names of the sponsoring candidates and committees, the method of attribution / distribution, the total proceeds from the event, the total expenditures made in relation to the event, and an itemized list of all contributions raised.
