Paul W. Spooner is executive director of the MetroWest Center for Independent Living Inc., in Framingham, Mass., one of eleven independent living centers in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He has over twenty-five years of experience working at centers providing direct services, peer counseling, information and referral, community development, systemic advocacy, and center administration. In addition, he has been a national trainer for over twenty years, in the areas of: independent living history, disability legislation, independent living center management, standards and indicators for centers, Web Design, computer networking, ADA, issues related to State Independent Living Councils and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
Mr. Spooner is co-chairperson of the Mass. Association of Independent Living Centers and Vice-Chairperson of the Personal Care Attendant Quality Home Care Workforce Council.Â Mr. Spooner received B.A. in Sociology from Southeastern Mass. University and his Master of Arts in Rehabilitation Counseling from Assumption College
