Physician Recruitment for Medical Panel and Restoration to Service Examinations
The Public Employee Retirement Administration Commission (PERAC) schedules medical panel examinations for public sector employees. PERAC is recruiting Massachusetts board certified cardiologists, oncologists, pulmonary specialists, and orthopedic specialists to examine individuals who have applied for or are receiving disability benefits from one of the Commonwealth's 105 retirement systems. Physicians are asked to perform objective evaluations to determine disability, permanency, and causality. Physicians may also be asked to evaluate disability retirees to determine if they are able to be restored to service.

Physician Recruitment for Comprehensive Medical Examinations
The Public Employee Retirement Administration Commission (PERAC) schedules Comprehensive Medical Evaluations (CME) for public sector disability retirees. PERAC recruits occupational health physicians for these services through an open enrollment process which may be found on the Commonwealth's Website www.Comm-Pass.com/
Interested parties may follow the instructions on Comm-Pass, complete all mandatory materials and submit their response to PERAC. Responses will be reviewed by PERAC staff. If approved, physicians will be asked to perform objective evaluations and appropriate medical testing (approved by the PERAC Nurse Case Manager), and advise PERAC as to a retiree's continuing disability or ability to be restored to service.

Recruitment for Medical Review Organizations
The Public Employee Retirement Administration Commission (PERAC) schedules Comprehensive Medical Evaluations (CME) for public sector disability retirees. The facilities/physicians providing these services are coordinated through a Medical Review Organization (MRO). An MRO is a health organization who provides medical services within a medical community (examples: hospital based occupational health unit, independent occupational health clinic, etc.). The MRO must meet the criteria described in the PERAC CME RFR for MROs and adhere to the conditions, follow procedures, and ensure the quality of the physician reports. The physicians within the MRO must also operate within the mandates of the RFR.
