Audit Unit



     PERAC’s Audit Unit is responsible for performing a triannual audit of each retirement system to insure that all financial and managerial functions are being performed in accordance with statute and regulation.

The guidelines for the triannual audit are encompassed in the Internal Control Questionnaire which is at this web site.

PERAC’s staff of nine field auditors not only perform audits but also provide technical assistance as needed. It is the goal of the Accounting and Auditing Unit to provide education and training to all retirement system staff in the financial operations of the retirement systems. We are developing new training programs to assist new retirement staff as well as provide ongoing training for existing staff.
