Legislative oversight

This committee oversees the development and implementation of legislative auditing programs conducted by the Legislative Post Audit and Oversight Bureau, with particular emphasis on performance auditing.

The legislature has 28 joint committees. Each committee has a specific jurisdiction, usually defined by topics such as health care, economic development, or transportation. In addition to reviewing legislation within their jurisdiction, many have oversight responsibilities.  All are bipartisan and have members from both the House and the Senate. Each committee is headed by both a House and Senate chairperson.
