Adult and Community Learning Services (ACLS), a unit at the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, funds no-cost basic educational services (ABE) for adults in Massachusetts. Here you'll find classes that can help you communicate better in English, increase your literacy skills, improve your math, acquire high school diplomas, explore career advancement, or prepare for college. An online course directory lets you search for classes and class schedules by site type, region, city, agency name, or the last name of the site coordinator.

Check civil service exam standings: SOARIS

The Standings & On-line Applicant Record Information System (SOARIS) allows you to verify receipt of your application for a scheduled civil service exam, retrieve exam results, check your rank on a current/active eligible list, view a copy of an interview notice, and more. If you recently submitted an On-line Application you will need to wait approximately 5 business days before using this system. 

Day care referral program

The Child Care Resource and Referral Agency (CCR&R) provides resources and referral information for early education and child care services, and afterschool programs throughout Massachusetts. Call the program's staff at 1-800-345-0131 for referrals to a variety of child care centers or family day care homes, or use the online search tool to find services near you.
