Across Massachusetts, everything from blueberries and peaches to tomatoes and beans are grown by local farmers for our enjoyment. During the next few months, the opportunities for purchasing locally grown fruits and vegetables are everywhere from outdoor farmers' markets to pick your own farms.
You can support local farmers by joining a community supported agriculture (CSA) co-op for a weekly supply of fruits, veggies, flowers and more (depending on what the farm produces) or use your SNAP benefits to purchase healthy foods from farmers' markets.
In addition, agricultural fairs and farm tours are great ways to spend time outdoors with family and friends. Please visit the MassGrown website for more information about upcoming agricultural events in your area.
