The MWRA's latest energy initiative gets stimulus' help
The Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA), which supplies water to about 50 communities around Boston, recently installed a device to harness energy from pressurized water that's piped into the authority's storage facility in Weston. The device will help the MWRA offset its electricity costs and a stimulus award is helping to fund the project. Read <em>The Boston Globe's</em> coverage of the project.
Stimulus Stories: A well-traveled bridge gets a much-needed upgrade
The Coldbrook Road Bridge in Oakham which spans Muddy Pond Brook is the most direct way for area residents to get to Worcester and experiences heavy commuter traffic. But the bridge was built in 1938 and recently it was starting to show its age. Thankfully, a stimulus award ensured that it was repaired. Read more.
