From an editorial on MassLive.com, on the decision by Gov. Deval Patrick to fund summer youth works programs across the state. Stimulus funds are helping to support the programs, which will provide about 4,700 youth with a paycheck this summer.

MA to get $59 mil in stimulus funds to help struggling schools

Massachusetts will receive nearly $59 million in stimulus funds to help its lowest-achieving schools. About 40 schools across the state will each receive $500,000 annually for the next three years, starting this fall. The funding is part of $3.5 billion in Recovery Act dollars the Obama administration is distributing to states to address failing schools. Read <em>The Boston Globe's</em> coverage of the award.
