$45 mil stimulus award to MA to expand broadband access

Massachusetts has been awarded $45 million in stimulus funding to expand broadband access in Western and North-Central Massachusetts. The funding was awarded to the Massachusetts Broadband Institute, a division of the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative, through the second round of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration's Broadband Technology Opportunities Program. Stimulus Stories: A place to heal and call home gets help from stimulus

The Pilot House is a homeless shelter and therapeutic program for people who have been chronically homeless and struggle with addiction. The program received a stimulus award which it used to hire an employment, training and education case manager. That, says many of the House's residents, has made all the difference. Read more.
