 Massachusetts Recovery Update

Jeffrey Simon, director of the Massachusetts Recovery and Reinvestment Office, on the recent release of the third quarter numbers for the stimulus program in the state, which indicate that approximately 30,800 individuals in Massachusetts have received a stimulus-funded paycheck since the federal program was first launched in February 2009.

Latest Citizens' Update Now AvailableThe Commonwealth's latest Citizens' Update on the impact and progress of Recovery Act funding here in Massachusetts is now available. The CU indicates that in the last quarter the stimulus program has funded 6,400 full time equivalent positions in the state, a more than 30% increase over last quarter.
YouthBuild Boston to Receive Recovery Act AwardYouthBuild Boston will receive $160,000 in stimulus funding to help connect youth to green job training. This award is part of $1 million in Recovery Act funding the Governor has directed to help prepare youth, unemployed individuals and low-income adults for jobs or apprenticeships in construction trades and related occupations.
