Massasoit Community College celebrates completion of stimulus-funded rooftop solar panel installation project

Massasoit Community College celebrated the installation of a multi-site photovoltaic (PV) array project, partially funded by the Recovery Act. Massasoit received five roof mounted solar arrays on the Brockton Campus, and its 370 kW system are expected to generate more than 453,000 kWh of electricity annually. In addition to the estimated $55,000 that the College will save annually in utility costs, DCAM will sell the solar renewable energy credits which will bring in approximately $260,000 per year. Saving energy and money with new windows in Hudson

Hudson faced heating and cooling challenges at its Public Library and was able to use funds from the Recovery Act and funds from the Community Preservation Act to resolve this. The building's aging and inefficient windows were replaced with 117 new ones and 27 new solar shades that are projected to reduce heating fuel consumption and electricity usage by 40 percent, saving the town over $7,000 a year and reducing the carbon dioxide emitted by over 40,000 pounds annually.
