Open Checkbook launched; based on Recovery Office approach

photo: Open Checkbook Event State Treasurer Steven Grossman, Administration & Finance Secretary Jay Gonzalez, and Comptroller Martin J. Benison were among those who launched the Massachusetts Open Checkbook, a new, user friendly website that represents a collaborative effort across state government to post the Commonwealth’s expenses online. The Open Checkbook is based on the approach and technology piloted in the Massachusetts Recovery and Reinvestment Office website. Read more.
 


Stimulus-funded energy efficiency lighting program announced

photo: Lights State energy and transportation officials launched a multi-state federally funded energy efficiency lighting program, which is projected to save over $4 million in energy costs through the life of the project. The Department of Energy Resources, in partnership with the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center is awarding $1 million in Recovery Act funds to leverage an estimated $900,000 in energy efficiency lighting rebates from NSTAR.
