New report details impact of Recovery ActA first-ever look at the demographic breakdown of Recovery Act jobs in the state in 2010 was recently released. The most significant finding was that the Recovery Act in Massachusetts created or retained jobs generally in proportion to the state population. "This report reflects our commitment to going above and beyond federal requirements in reporting Recovery Act jobs," said Jeffrey Simon, Director of the Massachusetts Recovery and Reinvestment Office. Stimulus Stories: A second chance for older job seekersBeing unemployed is difficult; being unemployed and over 45 is even harder. Operation A.B.L.E. of Greater Boston recognizes this harsh reality and provides employment and training opportunities specifically to those who need it in this age group. Now, thanks to stimulus funding, ABLE can provide additional training opportunities to help older job seekers. The agency received stimulus funds for its Community Service Employment Program and to develop a Weatherization Energy and Audit Training course. Read more.
