Massachusetts Selected As Finalist In Race To The Top Competition

Massachusetts has been selected as one of 16 finalists in the stimulus-funded Race to the Top competition. If selected, Massachusetts could receive up to $287 million in funding for education reform over the next four years. Read more.

OpenCape Broadband Initiative To Receive $32 Million

OpenCape, a non-profit corporation, will receive $32 million in Recovery Act funding as part of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration's Broadband Technology Opportunity Program. The funding will allow OpenCape to build an open access network for the Cape Cod region that will create opportunities for jobs, economic diversification and regional efficiencies in government.
